This project was a short-term project. We had from Tuesday to Thursday to develop a product inspired by an object we found fascinating or particularly appealing. The goal was to analyze selected characteristics of this object and transfer them into a new product, or reinterpret them.
I chose a box latch as my starting product. What fascinated me most was that, when tightening it, a certain threshold first has to be overcome before the latch snaps into place. This usually produces a characteristic metallic click that makes the secure closing clearly noticeable. I wanted to transfer this principle of tightening and locking into place to a new product.
